Installation Guide Riva R2/D2 (Without Internet Connection)
*Preferably you set up the screen while connected to the Internet. Perhaps you can temporarily set up a 'hotspot' on your phone in order to complete the setup? *(Potential updates will use your mobile data). In this guide we explain the steps in order to successfully install the CTOUCH Riva D2 or R2 display. Installation consists of two actions: create a connect code and following set-up on the display
It is recommended to create a connect code before following set-up. Please see How to create a CTOUCH Sphere connect code for instructions.
Important: to successfully complete the installation of the CTOUCH Riva D2 / R2 you need to have completed the “Create a connect code” action. If you do not have a connect code, installation will not be possible.
When creating a connect code, please make sure the code is valid until the display connects to the internet. If the connect code is not valid anymore when the display is connected to the internet, it will not be registered in CTOUCH Sphere.
If the connect code is invalid, the display will pop up a message once a week stating the registration was unsuccessful. Registration can still be done by creating a new valid connect code.
Completing set-up without internet connection
1. Select language
Set the language of the display.
2. Select location
Select your location to set the time.
3. Connect to the internet
If for whatever reason it is not possible to connect to the internet, you can still continue the installation by skipping this step.
4. Enter the connect code
Log in to sphere.ctouch.eu and retrieve your connect code. In the ‘Registration code’ field, type the connect code.

Important: as there is no internet connection, the CTOUCH Sphere registration cannot finalise. This step will automatically finalise as soon as the display is connected to the internet.

5. Enter display information
This step is automatically skipped.
As the display doesn’t have internet access, this data cannot be sent to Sphere. This data can be added within CTOUCH Sphere as soon as the display is connected to the internet and the “Connect code” step has been completed.
6. Select energy mode
Click the button next to the mode name to select which energy mode to use. This can be changed in the settings later if desired.
7. Select permissions
Click the check box to agree to all three permissions.
8. Enabling CTOUCH Operating System (COS)
Select ‘Full Experience’ to be able to maintain your display through CTOUCH Sphere.
9. Set Pin Code
Set your confidential pin code consisting of 6 digits.
10. Perform update
As the display is not connected to the internet, it cannot check if there is an update available. If no connection is possible, select Skip for now to finalise the setup of the display.
11. Connect to the internet
At a later time, you can connect the display to the internet.
- Plug in an internet cable or select Wi-Fi
- Restart the display by turning it off and on again
Important: for the best user experience as well as for security reasons, please make sure the display is always up-to-date. By connecting to the internet, updates can be automatically performed by the display or can be done manually via CTOUCH Sphere.
