How does the on and off timer work?
The Canvas screen can switch itself ON and OFF based on time and day of the week. In order to achieve this, the following steps need to be executed in the settings menu, subtab ‘General’:
- Set the current date and time in the ‘Date & Time’ submenu
- Set desired on-time in the ‘Power on timing’ submenu and choose if you want to repeat this setting.
If you do, you can select the desired days, including weekend days
- Same for off-time in the ‘Power off timing’ submenu
- You are all set up
Note 1: The Canvas touchscreen is designed to work without network connection and therefore does not rely on network to provide time; It is therefore necessary to set the current time and date manually, as described in step 1
Note 2: Since the clock is free running and not synced over the network, the clock may deviate somewhat over time. It is advised to adjust the clock every few months for optimal accuracy
Tip: In order to save energy, you might want to only set the off-timer (and set repeat to every day), and use manual on-button for switching on the screen in the morning. This way the screen will always be switched off at the end of the day, but the screen will not switch on during the holidays or when nobody uses the screen in the morning
