How can I write with my finger in the FlatFrog whiteboard software?
The FlatFrog whiteboard does not support touch by fingers by default. In the settings menu you have three interaction options. On default the FlatFrog whiteboard is on the "Touch and Pen Mode" without the toggle in the workbar. In this mode you can only use the pen to write with and use your finger as an eraser.
You can however change the settings so that a finger and the pen can be used. To do this you need to select the menu in the left corner.
Now select the option "Settings"
In the settings menu you can change if you want to erase using your fist, if you want to start in full screen and which email you would like the whiteboard to be send to. The last option is to change the interaction mode, select this option.
There are 3 interaction modes. Below is a screenshot on how the modes work. You can either put on the toggle in the "Touch and Pen Mode" or you can use the "Mouse Mode" if you want to write with your finger.
Note: There are two bugs detected in the Microsoft Win 10 update 20H1/Version 2004. (which is installed on all our OPS'es and BRIX modules)
Bug 1 : When a Windows computer with this Windows version wakes up from sleep mode the drivers cannot detect the touch anymore and see it as a mouse pointer.
Microsoft is working on a resolution/patch. Until then we have the following workarounds:
- Do not upgrade to Windows 20H1/version 2004
- If you have Win 20H1/version 2004 and experiencing the bug
- FlatFrog recommends to disable sleep mode on the Windows computer for now to not trigger the bug
- If you awakening from sleep mode and are experiencing the bug
- Unplug and re-connecting the USB touch cable may temporarily solve the issue (only if you are using a external PC, doesn't work for OPS)
- If you are using an OPS then you cannot re-connect the USB A/B cable. You can however disable and enable the HID-Compliant touch screen device in the device manager. Please see below for an explanation on how to do this.
- If that doesn’t work, restart computer to temporary solve the issue
Bug 2: When the windows computer starts up the touch is not recognised as touch but as mouse pointer. The OPS can still be used with your finger, but the Flatfrog whiteboard does not work.
