Step 5. Windows customization
This article describes how you can customize Windows to make your Windows 10 device dedicated to CTOUCH Pro/Kickle.
1. Auto login
We recommend you set up auto-login so you don't have to enter a username and password each time the CTOUCH Pro/Kickle unit starts up.
To enable auto-login:
- In Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
- Create a STRING Value.
- Enter the name DefaultUserName and set the value to the username you'd like to use to automatically login.
- Create another STRING Value.
- Enter the name DefaultPassword and set the value to the username's password.
- Create another STRING Value.
- Enter the name AutoAdminLogon and set the value to 1.
- Restart.

2. Disable tablet mode
Windows 10 Tablet Mode provides a more touch-friendly experience by making all applications run at full screen (rather than in Windows). By default, we need to keep the CTOUCH Pro/Kickle app as the main focus application when it appears on the desktop.
To turn OFF tablet mode with the registry, alternatively, you can set this value in the registry:
(HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell)
TabletMode DWORD
0 = Off
1 = On
SignInMode DWORD
0 = Use the appropriate mode for my hardware
1 = Use desktop mode
2 = Use tablet mode
ConvertibleSlateModePromptPreference DWORD
0 = Don't ask me and don't switch
1 = Always ask me before switching
2 = Don't ask me and always switch
3. Show the touch keyboard when not in tablet mode
3.1 With Windows
When Windows is in desktop mode, the touch keyboard doesn't show by default.
To enable this option, open the Typing settings and enable: "Show the touch keyboard when not in tablet mode and there's no keyboard attached".
3.2 With the registry
Alternatively, you can set this value in the registry.
- In Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TabletTip\1.7
- Create a DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Enter the name EnableDesktopModeAutoInvoke and set the value to 1.
.
4. Automatically hide the taskbar
For the best experience, you should hide the taskbar in desktop mode.
- To enable this option, right-click on the taskbar and select "Taskbar settings".
- Then, enable the option: "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode".
5 - Disable the inactivity time limit
We recommend you disable the computer's automatic lock feature.
5.1 - With the local security policy
Open local security policy (secpol.msc) as an administrator.
Set Interactive Logon: Machine inactivity limit to 0 seconds.

To disable the tile notifications and the toast notification:
- Log in as an administrator.
- Open Group Policy.
- Navigate to User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar\notifications.
- Set Turn off tile notifications and Turn off toast notifications to Enabled.
