TOUCH enable on Mac devices
(UPDD driver and application installation)
Mac device (MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini) don't have touch functionality with CTOUCH displays by default. Enabling touch functionality requires the installation of a specific driver and application.
Before proceeding with the installation, make sure that requirements from below are met:
HDMI Cable is required to transmit the video signal from Mac device to CTOUCH display
USB-A to USB-B cable is required to send the touch signal from CTOUCH display to Mac
CTOUCH display it can be Laser Air Plus, Laser Nova, Laser Sky, Leddura 2Meet and
Mac device (MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini) with one fo the following macOS
(OS X) versions: Yosemite, El Capitan, Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina.
Administrator account on the Mac OS device.

This document contains two sections, and it is advisable to follow up them in consecutive order.
Section 1: Installation of the driver and applications
Section 2: Enable the touch functionality based on your setup.
The two sections are applicable for multiple CTOUCH displays like Laser Air Plus, Laser Nova, Laser Sky, Leddura 2Meet and Leddura 2Share.
Section 1: Installation of the driver and application
As mentioned in the requirements, the installation of driver and application requires an admin account due to multiple layers of security and features that need to be enabled. If you are not sure what type is your account you can check in System Preference - Users & Groups. Under the account which will be used for installation, you should see "admin". If you don't have such an account, please contact your system administrator and ask for an administrator account.
Note: Do not connect the USB and HDMI cables between Mac Device and CTOUCH display. This step will be done in section 2.
Step 1: Go to location were you have downloaded the CTOUCH driver. In this case the driver is located in Download folder, but the location might be different in your case. Unzip the archive TOUCH enable on Mac devices.zip and locate UPDD_xx_xx_xxx.dmg file.
Step 2: Double click on the driver UPDD_xx_xx_xxx.dmg. MacOS will mount the driver as USB folder and open a new window were you can see the installation package UPDD_xx_xx_xxx.pkg.
Step 3: Double click on the UPDD_xx_xx_xxx.pkg to start the installation of the driver and application. Please read the introduction part and press Continue when are you ready to proceed.
Step 4: If you do not have a specific reason to change the destination where the drives are installed, we recommend to keep it as default.
Step 5: We recommend to keep the Installation Type as default. A default installation will ensure that drivers and application are working as expected.
When ready press Install
Step 6: The installer will start the installation and it will require the admin account and password.
In our installation the admin account is "ctouch", but will be different in your case. Make sure that you use the proper account.
Step 7:Allowing the extensions is a mandatory step during the installation and for proper functionality. Press Open Security Preferences. This will open the Security Settings.
Press the Allow button to allow Touch-Base Ltd to load and install all drivers.
The System Extension Blocked windows will be closed automatically and display another window where you need to press Open System System Preferences.
Press the Open System Preferences button to open the section. Click on the Lock button on the left bottom corner. Input the admin account and password that you used earlier.
After you open the Privacy section, tick the two UPDD items (gesture and Daemon). This action will allow the application to start with the Mac device and process correctly the gestures. Your setup should be similar with the below picture.
Step 8: Finish the installation. The application will continue with the installation and register all the components for another 1-2 minutes. Please wait until the installation is complete.
Step 9: The installation of drivers and application is complete. Press Close button to close the installer and remove the installation package.
The installer package is no longer required, and you can safely remove it by pressing Move to Trash.
Step 10: Restart the Mac device to enable and start the services. Press the Apple logo on the top left corner and press Restart. After the restart, you can proceed to Section 2.

Section 2: Enable the touch functionality based on your setup
In this section, we will connect all devices and test the touch functionality.
Step A: Connect the HDMI cable between the Mac device and CTOUCH display. Switch the CTOUCH display on that specific source. Based on default configuration, the displays will be mirrored (same image on both screens).
Step B: Connect the USB cable between the Mac device and CTOUCH display. USB-B (picture bellow) should be connected in the TOUCH OUT port of the screen (some displays have multiple TOUCH OUT ports) we recommend the usage of port TOUCH OUT 1.
Step C: Your Mac device will show the notification "UPDD device connected". The message indicates that CTOUCH capabilities have been detected and enabled.
Note: If you haven't seen any message or there is no touch feedback from CTOUCH display check the FAQ section.
Step D: Configure the screens. On the status bar in the top-right part, you will see the configuration tool for touch (hand inside of the square). Press on the tool and go to Configure
Follow the instruction displayed on your Mac Device and/or CTOUCH display.

F.A.Q (Frequently asked questions)
Question: How I can remove the black bars seen on the sides of my display?
Answer: You are using mirrored mode, and your Mac device is optimising the picture for his screen. Go to System Preferences -- Display and select Optimise for LED-Monitor
Question: How do I change my display configuration from mirror mode to extended mode?
Answer: Mirror mode means that same image is displayed on CTOUCH and Mac Device. Extended mode means that CTOUCH display image and MAC Device are separated side-by-side. To change between two modes go to System Preferences -- Display -- Arrangements and untick or tick the box with Mirror Displays.
Question: How do I check if the MAC device detects my CTOUCH display?
Answer: On Mac status bar on the right side locate the UPDD daemon (a hand in a square box). Click on it and go to Status. The new windows should show you the two type of devices available: Timelink and Zagtech.
