How to rename the Device name for sharing via Airserver?
In case you would like to alter the default name that is visible when sharing via AirServer on sharing devices such as phones and PCs. This is easily changed with the following method: Go to Neo Settings -> Click ‘Functionality’ submenu and then click ‘AirServer Settings’.
AirServer will open its own settings page, where you can change the (friendly)name that is visible for sharing.
Note: We advice to use a name without spaces, as Windows 10 occasionally seems to have issues with spaces for some reason.
IMPORTANT!
Miracast caching: When a Miracast device changes it’s sharing name, Windows will NOT always recognise this, leading to connection issues (screen not visible whe trying to find screen or not being able to make connection when found).
In order to solve this:
1) We advice to change the name before any/many people have wirelessly connected to the Neo screen
2) If users have already connected with the old name, the WHOLE connection cache needs to be cleared. On your Windows PC, go to the Windows Settings (for instance by searching for ‘Settings’ in the search bar) -> then click ‘Devices’ -> ‘Bluetooth & other devices’ -> ‘Wireless & Docks’ area.
Now for EACH device listed, click the three dots on the right and ‘Remove device’ until list is empty. You are now good to go!
